    Required Skills and Certifications

    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years
      
    • Traveler Experience: Unit will accept first-time travelers with a minimum of 2 years of experience
      
    • Skills: Telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias
      
    • Certifications: ACLS, BCLS
      
    • Special Requirements: Must have at least a 2 to 3 self-rating for Arterial Line Management and at least a 3 for both Titratable Cardiac & Vasoactive Drips
      
      
      
      Patient Diagnoses
      
      Our intermediate patient population mostly consists of post-operative cardiothoracic surgery and structural heart patients. This includes open heart surgery & thoracotomy patients POD 1, TAVR & VATS surgeries from PACU, and esophagogastrostomy patients. Nurses will manage a-lines, titratable gtts, BIPAP, trachs, heated high flow, epidurals & PCAs, temporary epicardial pacemakers, blake drains, chest tubes, etc.
      
      Special Procedures and Unit Details
      
      The cardiothoracic surgery patients downgrade to cardiac telemetry during their post-op recovery and stay with us until discharge. Our unit also takes overflow cardiac and medical intermediate patients. We are recognized for our high patient satisfaction scores and our ability to mobilize patients effectively. Nurses here require high-level critical thinking skills and cardiac knowledge to excel in a fast-paced environment.
