RN-ICU at Wythe County Community Hospital summary:
The RN-ICU provides essential direct patient care to critically ill patients, utilizing advanced nursing skills and critical thinking in a high-pressure environment. This role involves adherence to nursing standards and may require flexible scheduling for on-call shifts. A Bachelor's degree, along with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, are preferred for candidates with prior ICU or CCU experience.
Description:
*$20,000 Sign on Bonus and Relocation Assistance available for qualifying candidate*
*Night Shift*
Provides direct patient care to acutely and critically ill patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Reports to: Director of ICUQualifications:
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree preferred
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and
PALS within 90 days of hire
Handle with Care within one year from date of hire
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of VA or Compact licensure as a Registered Nurse which includes the Commonwealth of VA, and in good standing with the Board.
Minimum Work Experience
One year of previous ICU or CCU experience strongly preferred.
Ability to accept regular on-call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts when acuity and/or census indicates need. Will be available to report to facility within 30 minutes of notification. This status will be determined by Department Director, House Supervisor, or Administrator on call.
Ability to float to various clinical areas, where qualified and competent.
