This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education.

• Coordinates staff and patient scheduling including working with Medical Office Associates on scheduling issues
• Insures proper staff/patient ratios and scheduling needs are met
• Oversees case preparation to include proper paperwork, chart set up, insurance authorizations, needed medical and sleep history present, as well as clarification of orders/procedures to be done.
• Participates in community and medical educational outreaches
• Gathers and Analyzes Patient Information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs (physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedure, pertinent medical/social history), and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.
• Completes and verifies documentation.
• Prepares and calibrates equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and makes adjustments, if necessary.
• Applies electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
• Follows procedural protocols for all types of polysomnographic studies performed at the sleep center to ensure collection of appropriate data.
• Follows lights out procedures to establish and document baseline values (such as body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, respiratory and heart rates, etc.).
• Scores sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings and Sleep Conferences.
• Attends and participates in medical or public educational outreaches.What We Require:Education: Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree in allied health with emphasis in polysomnography preferred. Successful completion of a sleep technology program associated with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a sleep technologist. Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds Sleep Tech Credential of Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT) and would consider Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential.Experience: Minimum 3-5 years clinical experience in polysomnography. Minimum 1 year supervisory experience preferred.Licensure/certification: Virginia State License for Polysomnographic Technologist AND RPSGT by the Board of Polysomnographic Technologists (*would consider RST by American Board of Sleep Medicine or SDS by The National Board for Respiratory Care). Virginia State License for Respiratory Care Practitioner with RRT/CRT preferred. Obtain/Maintain current AHA BLS-HCP.Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required. Basic Computer Skills essential. Complies with BRPT Standards of Conduct.
