ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Senior Payments Specialist is responsible for
overseeing the lockbox payment processing operations, ensuring
timely and accurate processing of payments, and maintaining high
standards of service quality. The role may involve supervising a
team, handling complex payment issues, and collaborating with
various internal/external partners to streamline and improve
efficiency.
NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK
- Oversee the daily lockbox payment process activities through
external partners as well as internal partners to ensure accuracy
and timeliness.
- Review the payments errored out report on a daily basis.
- Review and process high-volume payments, including checks,
electronic payments, and other remittances.
- Validate and reconcile processed transactions against
external/internal reporting.
- Conduct regular audits of processed payments to ensure
compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards with
external vendor.
- Identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and take corrective
actions as needed.
- Assist in the implementation of quality assurance procedures
associated with vendor management of lockbox services, liaison as
necessary to minimize errors and improve processing
efficiency.
- Prepare as necessary daily, weekly, and monthly reports on
lockbox operations and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and
procedures related to payment processing.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME)for complex
member inquires and issues related to lockbox payments for third
party processor.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key
stakeholders.
- Take ownership for actions, decisions, and results; openly
accept feedback and demonstrate both the willingness and ability to
improve.
JOB QUALIFICATIONSHere are a few skills you MUST have to be
qualified for this position.
- Minimum 4 - 6 years of experience in lockbox payment processing
or similar role.
- Minimum 1 - 3 years of Credit Union or Commercial Bank loan
operations experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team
environment and mentor others.
- Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment
and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to:
PC, copier, telephone, etc.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes,
computer).
- Travel required on occasion.
- Here are a few qualities we'd LIKE for you to have to make you

- Strong knowledge of payment processing systems and
regulations.
- Experience with virtual/online banking environments for
business members services.
- Technical experience with input to loan documentation and core
